Exclamatory Sentence কোনো ব্যক্তি, বস্তু বা ঘটনার আনন্দ, দুঃখ, বিস্ময়, প্রশংসা, আফসোস, রাগ ইত্যাদি তীব্র অনুভূতি প্রকাশ করে।
Assertive Sentence সাধারণভাবে কোনো বক্তব্য বা তথ্য প্রকাশ করে।
মূল নিয়ম
Exclamatory → Assertive করার সময়:
- ! বাদ দিয়ে . বসাতে হবে।
- What, How, Alas, Hurrah, Bravo ইত্যাদি পরিবর্তন করতে হবে।
- মূল অর্থ ও অনুভূতির বক্তব্য বজায় রাখতে হবে।
- বাক্যকে সাধারণ statement-এ রূপ দিতে হবে।
১. What a/an + Adjective + Noun!
এটি Exclamatory sentence-এর সবচেয়ে গুরুত্বপূর্ণ structure।
Exclamatory:
What a beautiful flower it is!
Assertive:
It is a very beautiful flower.
Formula:
What a/an + adjective + noun + subject + verb!
↓
Subject + verb + very + adjective + noun.

Plural noun-এর ক্ষেত্রে a/an থাকে না।

৪. What + Uncountable Noun!
What beautiful weather it is!
→ It is very beautiful weather.
What nonsense!
→ It is complete nonsense.
৫. How + Adjective + Subject + Verb!
এটি খুব গুরুত্বপূর্ণ।
Exclamatory:
How beautiful she is!
Assertive:
She is very beautiful.
Formula:
How + adjective + subject + verb!

Subject + verb + very + adjective.

এই structure-টি একটু বিশেষ।

১০. Alas! — দুঃখ/আফসোস
Alas! = দুঃখের বিষয় / আফসোস।
Assertive করার সময়:
It is a matter of sorrow/regret that…
অথবা:
It is very sad that…

Alas! He is dead.
→ It is a matter of sorrow that he is dead.
Example ২
Alas! He has failed.
→ It is very sad that he has failed.

Alas! I have lost my friend.
→ It is a matter of great sorrow that I have lost my friend.

Hurrah! = আনন্দ/উল্লাস।

১৪. Bravo! — প্রশংসা
Bravo! = বাহ! / সাধুবাদ!
Assertive করার সময়:
It is praiseworthy that…
অথবা:
We appreciate…
Example:
Bravo! You have done a great job!
→ It is praiseworthy that you have done a great job.

→ You deserve praise for doing a great job.
১৫. Fie! — ঘৃণা/তিরস্কার
Fie! = ধিক! / ছিঃ!
Assertive:
It is shameful that…
Example:
Fie! You have cheated your friend!
→ It is shameful that you have cheated your friend.

Example:
What a pity that he has failed!
→ It is a great pity that he has failed.

Would that সাধারণত আকাঙ্ক্ষা/ইচ্ছা প্রকাশ করে।

২৫. If only…!
If only = যদি শুধু… / ইশ যদি…
Example:
If only I were rich!
→ I wish that I were rich.
If only I could fly!
→ I wish that I could fly.
২৬. Oh! / O!
Oh আনন্দ, বিস্ময়, দুঃখ ইত্যাদি প্রকাশ করতে পারে। Context অনুযায়ী Assertive করতে হবে।
Oh! What a beautiful bird!
→ The bird is very beautiful.
২৭. O that…!
আকাঙ্ক্ষা প্রকাশ করলে:
O that I were young again!
→ I wish that I were young again.
২৮. May…!
কখনো আশীর্বাদ/প্রার্থনা/শুভকামনা প্রকাশ করে।
Example:
May you live long!
→ I wish that you may live long.
অথবা:
→ It is my wish that you may live long.
